Stanley 520100M Wheeled Tool Bag Review

Finding a highly durable rolling tool bag could be quite cumbersome especially when you don’t know what material has been used to create that product. It doesn’t matter if you order it online or simply bought it on a nearby shop, what matters is the sturdiness — so it can last with you — everytime you bring  it along with your rigorous work.

Stanley 520100M Wheeled Tool Bag Features

Stanley Works™ company has been around manufacturing handy tools since 1843, their name is already synonymous with the best — in which it includes the most durable rolling tool bags out there in the market.

The 520100M rolling tool bag is available in different sizes, the most popular is their 20 incher model, packed with multiple external and internal support pockets to provide a sturdy hold and also to give a good storage capacity for the whole unit. Its base is made up of reinforced plastic for extra durability and a rigid frame opening for easy access. Its handling is made of telescopic handles and presents a heavy duty wheels  to ensure stability while you move it while on the field. A neat 2-inch leg elevates the whole unit above from the ground to prevent it from catching moisture and dirt.

Stanley 520100M Rolling Tool Bag Features & Review

The bag is very sturdy as the description says, the material used is nylon fiber reinforced with plastic support. You can rest assure that the unit can handle medium to maximum weight force – when you roll it with you. It even has a handy mouth opening wherein you can store your tools spaciously and an inner-wall to maximize the unit for carrying materials. If that’s not enough – the bag also features a large storage space at the center, designed to carry cords, power tools, cases, etc in place.

Actually, the main problem of this unit lies not on the bag, but on its handling, particularly on the wheels. When you try to move the bag around, it acts like a ‘sandpaper’ to the ground thus damaging that part on the long haul. Also, for some strange reason the design of the wheel is a bit wide (barrel-wheel) instead of a roller blade-like style, this can be quite cumbersome when you move it, because it produces a lot of noise — could become annoying for others if you’re inside an office. Also, because the wheels are wide, it tends to catch dirt from the ground even there’s a 2 inch distance from the ground (with its legs)

Last but not the least, because of the poor wheel design , it doesn’t take long before you see them get disassembled from the bag  after prolong use. If you ask me, I’d rather pay additional 10 even 20 bucks to upgrade the rolling wheel of this unit, because the bag itself is really wonderful.

If you’re only planning to buy a tool-bag and doesn’t care too much if it has wheels or not, then the Stanley 520100M tool bag is more than enough for you. Else, you can always try and find a new unit to fit your preferences.
